Get BOLD in the COLD

“Get outside, it’s good for you!”

Years ago, this was a common phrase that mothers hollered at our kids to get them out of the house!  It was less common however, for many to say it on a cold, Alberta winter day.  Eagle Point-Blue Rapids Parks Council in partnership with Jackie Greenlee from Balance RT Consulting, are affirming that old saying by offering a new opportunity for little ones to “get outside” in the snow. In January, BOLD Nature Kids will be starting its winter session.

This program is offered for children aged 3 to 5 years old. We want little ones to experience winter weather and to learn how to enjoy, play and create in the outdoors even when it is cold,” says Jackie Greenlee, Program Facilitator.  BOLD Nature Kids is held at the Rotary-Pembina Nordic Outdoor Education Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning January 14, 2020  from 8:45-11:45 am.

The Rotary Pembina Nordic Outdoor Education Centre is excellent for a program like this as it offers a beautiful, warm shelter and washroom, in addition to the spectacular natural environment that lends itself to kids being outside, learning and exploring,” adds Jackie.
If you have little ones who would benefit from more time outside, give us a call at the Eagle Point-Blue Rapids Parks Council office at 780-898-7275 or email  sandra@epbrparkscouncil.org
