Why It Matters

Children learn best from people who are genuinely passionate about what they teach.

When a child discovers a butterfly through a naturalist’s eyes, learns to identify animal tracks from an outdoor educator, or builds a shelter with someone who spends their weekends exploring the backcountry, the experience becomes more than just an activity, it becomes a story they’ll remember for years.
