If you love nature and are curious about night creatures, join us for our first annual Moth Night!
We will demonstrate different types of light and sugar traps to attract moths, then visit a black light moth trap set up in the forest.
Why are moths attracted to some kinds of bulbs and not others? We’ll discuss the light spectrum and compare results at different light traps.
Help us capture moths for identification, then gently set them free.
Moth photographs can be posted to your iNaturalist account and shared to Eagle Point Moth and Butterfly Project.
Bring a headlamp and flashlight. If you have sensitive eyes, bring sunglasses for the black light moth trap.
