Get ready for a day packed with exciting hands-on science activities, right outside of Drayton Valley! Young scientists will spend the day exploring, creating, testing, and learning through fun experiments that they can see, touch, and experience for themselves.

From making delicious homemade ice cream to creating colourful lava lamps and watching the explosive reaction of elephant toothpaste, every activity is designed to spark curiosity and inspire a love of learning.

This isn’t a classroom science lesson—it’s a full day of discovery, creativity, and fun!

What age is this program for?

This One Day Fun Day is designed for children ages 9–12.

What time does the program run?

The program runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Please arrive a few minutes early for drop-off and pick-up.

Does my child need any science experience?

Not at all! Activities are designed to be fun, engaging, and accessible for all skill levels.

Will the children be outdoors?

Yes. While some science activities will take place indoors, participants will also enjoy outdoor games, exploration, and nature-based learning activities. Please dress for the weather.

What should my child bring?

Participants should bring:

  • A water bottle
  • Lunch (snack will be provided)
  • Weather appropriate clothing
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)

Can my child take their projects home?

Many of the activities and creations will be taken home so participants can share their discoveries with family and friends.

Who supervises the program?

Programs are led by experienced Eagle Point-Blue Rapids Parks Council educators and staff who are passionate about creating safe, engaging, and memorable learning experiences.

Is lunch provided?

No. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch, and water bottle.

What happens if the weather is poor?

The program will run rain or shine. Activities may be adjusted to ensure everyone remains safe and comfortable.

How many participants are in the program?

Space is limited to help ensure a quality experience and plenty of opportunities for hands-on participation.

Why does the program cost $75?

Your registration includes a full day of supervised programming, all activity materials and supplies, hands-on experiments, outdoor exploration, and instruction from experienced educators. Participants enjoy a unique experience that combines science, creativity, and outdoor learning in one exciting day.
