Eagle Point-Blue Rapids Parks Council takes part in Global Big Day!

by Kathy Schwengler, Education & Outreach Coordinator for Eagle Point-Blue Rapids Parks Council.

On Saturday, May 5,  2018, join us for a day of birding at 3 locations!  We’ll be at Eagle Point Provincial Park, Blue Rapids Recreation Area and at the north end of Buck Lake getting fresh air and enjoying our local wild areas! Families welcome!

We are partnering with the Alder Flats Fish & Game Association to identify and count birds in conjunction with over 20,000 participants in countries across the globe as part of Global Big Day (eBird)!

This 5 May 2018, can we we surpass last year’s results, of 6635 bird species, and set a new record for one day of birding?  Let’s get involved together to contribute bird counts from our local area! Check out https://ebird.org/news/global-big-day-5-may-2018

Feel free to join us at any/all of the locations.
