DESCRIPTION:Earth Day Rain Barrel Bonanza Returns to Drayton Valley!\nSorry\, all the rain barrels have been reserved for this year.\nCelebrate Earth Day with a simple way to save water\, lower household costs\, and support local environmental education. \nEagle Points Blue Rapids Parks Council\, with the support of Pembina Pipeline Corporation\, is once again offering local residents the opportunity to purchase a subsidized rain barrel for just $30. \nThese ready-to-use 208 litre (55 gallon) rain barrels\, produced by Barrelman Inc.\, are made from food grade repurposed containers and are ideal for collecting rainwater for gardens\, lawns\, and outdoor plants throughout the growing season. \nWhy Get a Rain Barrel?\nA rain barrel is an easy way to make a practical difference at home while supporting local sustainability efforts. \n\nSave money on outdoor water use\nReduce municipal water consumption\nCollect nutrient rich rainwater for gardens and plants\nReuse repurposed materials and reduce waste\nSupport local nature education programs\n\nUsing a rain barrel once per week over 12 weeks during the summer can provide up to 2\, 508 litres (662 gallons) of water annually! \n \nEvent Details:\nDate: Wednesday\, April 22\, 2026 \nTime: Pickup anytime between 11:30 AM and 4:30 PM \nCost: $30.00 \nLocation: Pembina Pipeline Office\, 5905 58 Ave\, Drayton Valley \nCost: $30 per rain barrel \nWho Can Participate?\nThis opportunity is available to residents in the Drayton Valley and Brazeau. \nPlease note: only registered participants who are able to pick up their rain barrel during the scheduled pickup window are eligible. \nSupporting Local Nature Education: Proceeds from this initiative help support the EPBRPC Nature Education Programs\, creating opportunities for local families and communities to connect with nature and environmental learning. \nRegistration Opens April 1\, 2026.
