Young scientists will spend the day exploring\, creating\, testing\, and learning through fun experiments that they can see\, touch\, and experience for themselves. \nFrom making delicious homemade ice cream to creating colourful lava lamps and watching the explosive reaction of elephant toothpaste\, every activity is designed to spark curiosity and inspire a love of learning. \nThis isn’t a classroom science lesson—it’s a full day of discovery\, creativity\, and fun! \n\nActivities Include\nMake Your Own Ice Cream\nLearn how science helps turn simple ingredients into a frozen treat\, then enjoy the results! \nCreate Colourful Lava Lamps\nExplore density and chemical reactions while building your own mesmerizing lava lamp. \nNatural Paint Workshop\nDiscover how people have used natural materials throughout history to create paints and artwork. \nElephant Toothpaste Experiment\nExperience one of science’s most exciting reactions as we create a giant foamy eruption. \nOutdoor Science Challenges\nPut your observation and problem-solving skills to the test through fun games and activities. \nNature Exploration\nLearn about the science happening all around us as we explore the natural world. \n\nWhy Parents Love Our One Day Fun Days\n\nFull-day supervised program (9:00 AM–4:00 PM)\nSmall group learning environment\nHands-on activities and experiments\nOutdoor exploration and active play\nExperienced educators\nOpportunities to build confidence\, creativity\, and problem-solving skills\nKids take home new knowledge\, memories\, and creations\n\nWhat to Bring\n\nWeather-appropriate outdoor clothing\nClosed-toe shoes\nWater bottle\nLunch and snacks\nA sense of curiosity and adventure!\n\nRegistration\nSpaces are limited and pre-registration is required. \nJoin us for a day of science\, discovery\, and fun as we explore the amazing world around us through hands-on experiments and creative activities! \n \nFrequently Asked Questions\nWhat age is this program for?\nThis One Day Fun Day is designed for children ages 9–12. \nWhat time does the program run?\nThe program runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Please arrive a few minutes early for drop-off and pick-up. \nDoes my child need any science experience?\nNot at all! Activities are designed to be fun\, engaging\, and accessible for all skill levels. \nWill the children be outdoors?\nYes. While some science activities will take place indoors\, participants will also enjoy outdoor games\, exploration\, and nature-based learning activities. Please dress for the weather. \nWhat should my child bring?\nParticipants should bring: \n\nA water bottle\nLunch (snack will be provided)\nWeather appropriate clothing\nClosed-toe shoes\nSun protection (hat\, sunscreen\, sunglasses)\n\nCan my child take their projects home?\nMany of the activities and creations will be taken home so participants can share their discoveries with family and friends. \nWho supervises the program?\nPrograms are led by experienced Eagle Point-Blue Rapids Parks Council educators and staff who are passionate about creating safe\, engaging\, and memorable learning experiences. \nIs lunch provided?\nNo. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch\, and water bottle. \nWhat happens if the weather is poor?\nThe program will run rain or shine. Activities may be adjusted to ensure everyone remains safe and comfortable. \nHow many participants are in the program?\nSpace is limited to help ensure a quality experience and plenty of opportunities for hands-on participation. \nWhy does the program cost $75?\nYour registration includes a full day of supervised programming\, all activity materials and supplies\, hands-on experiments\, outdoor exploration\, and instruction from experienced educators. Participants enjoy a unique experience that combines science\, creativity\, and outdoor learning in one exciting day. \n
