DESCRIPTION:Registration Opening Soon!\nA sharp knife is one of the most important tools an outdoor enthusiast can carry. Whether you’re field dressing game\, preparing camp meals\, or tackling everyday tasks in the backcountry\, proper knife skills are essential for safety\, efficiency\, and success in the outdoors. \nJoin Bushcraft and Wilderness Survival Instructor\, Russ Meades\, for a hands-on workshop focused on practical knife skills and safety. Participants will learn handling techniques\, proper knife maintenance\, and real-world applications. \n\nHow to choose a knife and how to perform its many uses safely\, from making tinder and kindling for fires\, to crafting triggers for traps\, and from carving simple items like tent pegs for your shelter\, to creating more elaborate useful projects for your camp or survival location.\nHow to use it to strike a very hot spark\, even in wet conditions. \nHow to de-limb and cut down saplings\, including how to de-bark them swiftly and safely.\nHow to use the knife to build a viable shelter as well as to forage for and prepare food. \nHow to modify your knife for specific uses and how to sharpen and maintain your knife so it is always in top condition.\n\n \nWorkshop Details\nDate: Saturday\, September 26\, 2026\nTime: TBD\nPrice: TBD\nLocation: Pembina Nordic Centre\, 7010 Twp Rd 494\, Rocky Rapids\, Alberta\nAges: 18+ \nIMPORTANT\nThis workshop involves physical activities such as trail walking on uneven trails\, and being bent over for extended periods of time.
