Global Big Day is May 9, 2020
Thank you to everyone who came out to count birds in your neighbourhood for our third annual contribution to Global Big Day!
The Eagle Point team counted a record number of birds and species this year – 1625 birds, 95 species. We counted from farms, acreages, birdfeeders, parks, river shorelines, ponds, and lakes stretching from Chip Lake to Drayton Valley to Buck Creek to Alder Flats to Buck Lake!
As part of Global Big Day, we joined participants from over 162 countries to count more than 6388 species, smashing last year’s global record too! Nice work everyone! You can see all the birds we counted on the Global Big Day Summary 2020.
Be sure to get your binoculars out and learn your birds so that you can join us next year!
If you want to see what species of birds you might discover in the Eagle Point-Blue Rapids Parks system, you can download the EPBR Bird Checklist.
