A Holiday Tradition in the Park!
We’ve got a special way to celebrate the Christmas season here in Eagle Point Provincial Park! We started this tradition about 3 years ago – we wanted a self guided way to integrate the holiday season with the outdoors while giving back to nature and so the Critter Christmas Tree idea was born!
With the help of Aim for Success and some eager families, we make edible, bird safe decorations, then choose a tree along the Rotary-Pembina Nordic Community Trails South to be decorated with these edible treats! We post the location on our website and on our social media pages so that families and friends can discover the decorated Critter Christmas Tree throughout the holiday season.
Feel free to discover the Critter Christmas Tree with your friends or family this Christmas. If you wish to hang your own bird friendly, edible decoration on the tree, please do!
Take a photo of your visit or a bird or other wild animals you see visiting the tree and post it on your social media with the hashtag “critterchristmastree” to share your experience.
Make sure your decorations are safe:
Use only hemp, sisal, raffia or wool string (no thread, wire, fishing line). Use bird safe edibles (beef tallow, suet, bird seeds, whole grains). Don’t use refined or processed foods or sugars.

Map will be posted for this event once the tree has been decorated.
